I am pleased to offer a 10% discount off my usual individual tax return preparation fees to Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. Simply present evidence of registration in any US state or territory, prior to signing your tax return.
Why are you doing this?
Many public servants get discounts from a variety of businesses – first responders, military, etc. There is nothing wrong with that, but the nursing profession is left behind far too often. This is my modest attempt to redress the balance.
Who qualifies?
Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants with a license or credential in any US state or territory. Anyone over sixty years of age who has retired from the profession, with evidence of past registration, is also eligible.
I am a healthcare professional in another field. Do I qualify?
Sorry, I can’t afford to give everyone a 10% discount! Professional nurses are chronically underpaid for the valuable service they provide to humanity. I have been the recipient of excellent nursing care over the years and just want to say “Thank You.”
I think my rates are pretty reasonable, even without the discount.
I am on the Nurse Aide I (or Nurse Aide II) Registry in NC. Do I qualify?
Yes. Nurse Aide I (or similar qualification in other states) is the minimum for eligibility.
I am a nurse but my spouse isn’t. Do I qualify?
Yes. As long as one of the spouses listed on a joint return is eligible, the fee for the whole return is discounted.
What is the discount based on?
My usual fees for the work undertaken, which may be more or less than you have paid other tax professionals in the past.
Is this just a first-year discount?
No. As a consumer, I am always skeptical of introductory offers. This offer is good as long as you remain a client and as long as you meet the conditions in “Who qualifies” above.
Is this a gimmick?
I like to think not. See above. This offer is driven by strongly-held personal views.
I am not a nurse. Will I pay more to fund this?
No. See above.
Does the discount apply to other services, such as dealing with tax audits?
Not automatically, but all hourly rates are negotiable for all clients.
